![]() Issue 4: Remote controlling PCs and Macs from a Mac is a nightmare. The only new Macs I have been able to successfully control are ones that I have manually copied over the connectwisecontrol app from /opt and and connectwisecontrol launchdeamon plist. Issue 3: Is the ConnectWise client still used for remote control? If it is, the installer I am using doesn't install it at all, nor does it come down post-install. Confirm Control is enabled." This happens on computers that do have the ConnectWise client installed in /opt as well as those that don't. Issue 2: Nearly all of the Macs I attempt to remote control via the console give me a "Empty Response Unable to retrieve connection information from this computer. The LTsvc.mpkg installer was pulled from the CWA console, but it doesn't install the defs or imgs folders into /usr/local/ltechagent, nor does it setup a computer_config file (as is present on all the machines that were transitioned.) Did our MSP miss a configuration step on the console? The agent_config file is set up properly. However, any new Mac installs, it only shows the generic gear icon. Issue 1: The initial installs of the Labtech client when our MSP transitioned from one of the goto products to ConnectWise, shows the MSPs custom icon instead of the generic gear. Switching to the stand-alone console, I am able to resolve many of the issues. ![]() Update: Issues 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 appear to be problems because I was using (and only knew about) the web console. Since I am not the MSP, I don't really have access to the support people that might be able to resolve these issues in a timely manor so I'm asking here. to the point I really don't want it installed on our Macs at all. Problem is, I am encountering a lot of bugs with ConnectWise on the Macs. I have been the Mac & PC admin at my company for over 20 years, and we decided to go the MSP route because I couldn't deal with everything on my own (Routers, backups, voip, various subscriptions, etc.) We're getting a lot of phishing emails than before. Emails like with embedded Scan QR Code, Fake address sending email. Our MSP does a good job, but they don't support many Macs. What do you use to stop Phishing emails in O365? It seems that since we migrated our emails to O365. What do you use to stop Phishing emails in O365? Cloud Computing & SaaS.Just a reminder, if you are reading the Spark!, Spice i. Pro series – 6th October 2023 Spiceworks Originals.Hi there, I am a Sophos partner and currently have clients that run Sophos Essentials on their work machines - and it looks like our licenses are due for expiry soon. Would you guys suggest any alternative vendors that offer the same functionality as Soph. We'd prefer the solution to be entirely local versus cloud based. We're looking for a solution that would allow clients who participate in certain services to punch in and punch out on a time clock with a PIN versus fingerprint or prox card. I am going to mark Tim's as thr best answer as it was his comment that made me examine all the services running. Hopefully if anyone goes through the same thing, this thread may help them. Thanks for all your comments, offering me different paths to investigate. I have also contacted the MSP asking them to get on with the removal of their agents. I think the reason it did return was that one of the ConnectWise services had a description along the lines of "checks to ensure (MSP's name) software is installed and running". I then disabled these services, deleted them, and removed the folder they were pointing to (C:\windows\LTSvc).Ī few reboots later and it hasn't returned. This is something I should have really checked for, but didn't. I then found that Connectwise has 2 x services (LTService & LTSvcMon), but they were named after the MSP - not the software. OK, I think I have gotten to the bottom of it! Firstly I have disabled the ScreenConnect service, then uninstalled the spoftware from Programs & Features in Control Panel.
